Biography

Rebecca Aranda (she/they) is a Mexican-American documentary photographer based in Los Angeles, with a focus on educational organizations, nonprofit work, and performance arts.

Born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley, Rebecca studied theatre, film and writing at UC Irvine. Her training in storytelling gives her a unique photographic eye, and an instinctive ability to capture human relationships and emotion.

She has produced images for a wide variety of clients, ranging from nonprofit orgs to individual branding. Events, portraits, stock imagery, and longterm documentary projects are all within her wheelhouse. Lastly, since her first creative passions were film and theatre, she always loves returning to those worlds to make production stills.

Rebecca is proud to be a mentor with Las Fotos Project, working with teenage photographers in East LA. She is also occasionally tapped to speak or facilitate workshops.

Rebecca takes on a select number of portrait and editorial commissions per year. Contact her at rebecca.aranda.photo@gmail.com to check for current availability.
